Sheffield City Opera was founded to provide a platform for young singers to perform opera. In this, our 20th anniversary year, we have extended our role to include singers of all ages.
Do you sing in a choir and have wondered what it’s like to act on stage?
Perhaps you’re experienced in musical theatre or Gilbert and Sullivan and fancy taking it a bit further?
Or an amateur dramatics enthusiast with a longing to develop your singing voice?
Whether you’ve sung on stage, in church or just in the shower we have just the opportunity you’ve been waiting for!
Following our acclaimed production of Women of Steel during the Classical Sheffield weekend, Sheffield City Opera will be holding workshops this summer to build on our success. The aim is to stage a full length version of Women of Steel in March 2020. There will be expert tuition and a chance to experience the magic of singing opera for yourselves.
We’re hoping you will join us for our regular Wednesday evening
rehearsals in September, but in the meantime, this is your chance to try us out. We’re a friendly group and you can be assured of a warm welcome!
